How to Install Roll Roofing on Low Pitch Roof
Installing roll roofing on a low pitch roof can be a challenging task, but with the right steps and tools, it can be done effectively. Roll roofing, also known as built-up roofing, is a popular choice for low slope roofs due to its affordability and ease of installation. In this article, we will guide you through the process of installing roll roofing on a low pitch roof.
Step 1: Prepare the Roof Surface
Before installing roll roofing, it is essential to prepare the roof surface. Begin by removing any old roofing materials, such as shingles or tiles, and inspect the roof deck for any damage or decay. Repair any damaged areas with appropriate materials, such as plywood or roof deck cement. Ensure that the roof deck is clean, dry, and free of debris.
Step 2: Install a Felt Underlayment

Roll out the felt underlayment over the entire roof surface, ensuring that it overlaps the edges by at least 2 inches. Staple the underlayment in place every 6 inches, using a staple gun.
Step 3: Apply Roofing Adhesive
