How to Delete a Person from Instagram
In today’s digital age, social media platforms like Instagram have become an integral part of our lives. While it offers a great way to connect with friends and family, there may come a time when you need to delete someone from your Instagram account. Whether it’s due to a falling out, privacy concerns, or simply wanting to declutter your connections, deleting a person from Instagram is a straightforward process. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it.
Step 1: Open Instagram
The first step is to open the Instagram app on your smartphone. If you don’t have the app installed, you can download it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Step 2: Go to Your Profile
Once the app is open, tap on your profile icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. This will take you to your profile page.
Step 3: Access the Activity Section
In your profile page, scroll down and tap on the three horizontal lines in the top right corner. This will open a menu. From the menu, select “Activity.”
Step 4: View Your Activity
In the Activity section, you will see a list of your recent interactions, including likes, comments, and follows. Scroll down to find the person you want to delete from your Instagram account.
Step 5: Delete the Person
Once you’ve found the person you want to delete, tap on their name. This will open their profile page. On the top right corner of their profile page, you will see three dots. Tap on these dots to open a menu.
From the menu, select “Remove from Friends.” This will remove the person from your Instagram friends list.
Step 6: Confirm the Deletion
A confirmation message will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to remove the person from your friends list. Tap “Yes” to confirm the deletion.
Step 7: Delete Private Messages (Optional)
If you have private messages with the person, you may want to delete them as well. To do this, go to your direct messages section by tapping the paper airplane icon at the bottom right corner of the Instagram app. Find the conversation with the person you want to delete, and swipe left on the conversation to reveal the “Delete” option. Tap “Delete” to remove the conversation from your inbox.
Step 8: Remove from Your Following (Optional)
If you want to ensure that the person is completely removed from your Instagram experience, you can also unfollow them. To do this, go back to the person’s profile page, tap on the three dots, and select “Unfollow.”
By following these steps, you can easily delete a person from your Instagram account. Remember that this process only removes the person from your friends list and does not delete their account or any content they have posted.
