How to Disable Friend Suggestions on Snapchat- A Step-by-Step Guide

How to Turn Off Friend Suggestions on Snapchat

Snapchat, the popular social media platform, offers a variety of features to enhance user experience. One such feature is the Friend Suggestions, which suggests new friends based on your mutual connections and interests. However, some users may find this feature intrusive or unnecessary. If you’re looking to turn off friend suggestions on Snapchat, follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Open Snapchat

To begin, launch the Snapchat app on your smartphone. Ensure that you are logged in to your account.

Step 2: Access the Settings

Once you are on the main screen, swipe down from the top of the screen to access the camera. On the bottom right corner, tap on the gear icon to open the Settings menu.

Step 3: Navigate to the Friends Section

In the Settings menu, scroll down and tap on “Friends.” This section contains various options related to your Snapchat friends.

Step 4: Turn Off Friend Suggestions

Within the Friends section, you will find an option called “Friend Suggestions.” Tap on it to view the settings for this feature. Here, you will have two options: “On” and “Off.” To disable friend suggestions, simply tap on “Off.”

Step 5: Confirm Your Selection

After turning off the Friend Suggestions, a confirmation message will appear. Tap on “Yes” to confirm your selection.

Step 6: Exit the Settings

Once you have disabled the Friend Suggestions, exit the Settings menu by tapping on the back button or by swiping up from the bottom of the screen.

Now, you have successfully turned off friend suggestions on Snapchat. From now on, you will no longer receive suggestions for new friends. If you ever decide to turn this feature back on, simply follow the same steps and select “On” instead of “Off.”

Remember, turning off friend suggestions does not affect your existing friends or any other features on Snapchat. It simply stops the app from suggesting new connections based on your mutual connections and interests.
