How to Share a Video on Zoom: A Step-by-Step Guide

In today’s digital age, video conferencing has become an essential tool for both personal and professional communication. Zoom, being one of the most popular video conferencing platforms, offers a variety of features that make it easy to share videos during a meeting. Whether you want to show a presentation, a tutorial, or just a fun video, this step-by-step guide will help you learn how to share a video on Zoom.

Step 1: Prepare Your Video

Before you begin, make sure you have the video file you want to share ready on your computer. It’s recommended to have the video in a format that is compatible with Zoom, such as MP4, MOV, or AVI. If you’re using a video from a website, you may need to download it first.

Step 2: Join or Start a Zoom Meeting

Open the Zoom application and join or start a meeting. If you’re joining a meeting, enter the meeting ID and password provided by the host. If you’re starting a new meeting, simply click on “New Meeting” or “Join a Meeting.”

Step 3: Enable Video Sharing

Once you’re in the meeting, make sure your video is turned on. If you’re the host, click on the “Stop Video” button to turn it on. If you’re a participant, you may need to ask the host to allow video sharing. The host can do this by clicking on the “More” button (three dots) next to your name and selecting “Enable Video.”

Step 4: Share Your Screen

To share your video, you’ll need to share your screen. Click on the “Share Screen” button at the bottom of the Zoom window. This will open a new window with various options for what you want to share.

Step 5: Select Your Video File

In the “Share Screen” window, you’ll see options to share your entire screen, a specific window, or a whiteboard. For sharing a video, select “Share a Window.” Then, click on the “Select Window” button and choose the window that contains your video player or video file.

Step 6: Start Sharing Your Video

After selecting the window with your video, click the “Share” button. Your video will now be shared with all participants in the meeting. You can control the video playback by using the playback controls in the video player window.

Step 7: End Screen Sharing

When you’re done sharing your video, click the “Stop Share” button in the Zoom window. This will stop sharing your screen and return you to the meeting.

By following these simple steps, you can easily share a video on Zoom during a meeting. Whether you’re conducting a business presentation or just want to share a fun video with friends and family, Zoom’s video sharing feature makes it a convenient choice for all your video conferencing needs.
