How to Delete All Bookmarks on Chromebook

Are you looking to start fresh with your Chromebook and want to remove all your bookmarks? Deleting all bookmarks on a Chromebook is a straightforward process that can be completed in just a few steps. Whether you’re cleaning up your browser or simply want to begin anew, here’s a guide on how to delete all bookmarks on your Chromebook.

Step 1: Open Chrome Browser

First, ensure that you have the Chrome browser open on your Chromebook. You can find it in the app drawer, which is typically located in the bottom-left corner of your screen. Click on the Chrome icon to launch the browser.

Step 2: Access Bookmarks Manager

Once Chrome is open, click on the three dots in the top-right corner of the browser window to open the menu. From the dropdown menu, select “Bookmarks” and then choose “Bookmarks Manager” from the submenu that appears.

Step 3: Open the Bookmarks Bar

In the Bookmarks Manager, you’ll see a list of your bookmarks organized into folders. To delete all bookmarks, you need to first access the bookmarks bar. Click on the “Bookmarks bar” tab on the left side of the window to view your bookmarks bar.

Step 4: Select All Bookmarks

With the bookmarks bar visible, click and drag your cursor over all the bookmarks you want to delete. If you want to delete all bookmarks, click on the first bookmark, then hold down the “Shift” key and click on the last bookmark. This will select all the bookmarks in the bookmarks bar.

Step 5: Delete the Bookmarks

With all the bookmarks selected, right-click on any of the selected bookmarks and choose “Remove” from the context menu. You can also use the keyboard shortcut “Ctrl + Delete” (or “Cmd + Delete” on a Mac) to delete the selected bookmarks.

Step 6: Confirm Deletion

A confirmation dialog will appear asking if you’re sure you want to delete the selected bookmarks. Click “OK” to confirm the deletion.

Step 7: Close the Bookmarks Manager

Once the bookmarks are deleted, you can close the Bookmarks Manager by clicking the “X” button in the top-right corner of the window.

Congratulations! You have successfully deleted all bookmarks on your Chromebook. This process can be a great way to start fresh or simply to clean up your browser. If you ever need to restore your bookmarks, you can always import them from a backup or sync them from another device.
